Everything you need to know about Zemvia — for new members and for municipalities/organisations.
A detailed step-by-step registration walkthrough is available in our "Getting Started" guide — ask your community coordinator for a copy.
What is Zemvia?
Zemvia helps communities fight loneliness through small, time-bounded shared activities called "loops" — a weekly walk, a cooking evening, a reading circle. Anyone in your community can start one, and everyone is welcome to join.
What is a "loop"?
A loop is a small recurring (or one-off) activity anyone can create in about two minutes — a title, a schedule, and a location. It’s instantly visible to your whole community.
How do I join Zemvia?
Click the invite link you received (from your community or a shared loop) and register with your name, email, and a password. If your community requires approval, a coordinator confirms your membership; otherwise you’re in right away. See our full "Getting Started" guide for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Do I need to download an app?
No — Zemvia works in your browser on any device: phone, tablet, or computer. No installation needed. A dedicated app is on our future roadmap as an additional option — feedback on this (or anything else) is always welcome, just get in touch.
How do I create my own loop?
Once you’re a member of a community, go to your community board and click "Create a loop." Add a title, description, category, and schedule — it goes live immediately.
Is Zemvia free for me?
Yes. Zemvia is free for residents and members — your municipality, church, association, or employer covers the subscription.
How many loops can I join or host?
You can join as many loops as you like. As a regular member you can host 1 loop at a time; "Super Users" (appointed by a coordinator) can host up to 3.
What happens if nobody joins my loop?
Loops with no members are gently auto-archived after a set period (usually 14 days) — no penalty, and you can relaunch it any time with one click.
What is a "Living Loop"?
Once a loop grows to 5 or more participants, a coordinator can promote it to a Living Loop — it runs indefinitely with no end date and is never auto-archived.
Can I use Zemvia in German and English?
Right now Zemvia is available in German and English — your language is detected automatically and can be changed any time in your profile. More languages are planned as the platform grows; if there’s one you’d like to see, get in touch.
How do I leave a loop or delete my account?
You can leave any loop from its detail page. To delete your account entirely, go to your profile settings — this removes your data from Zemvia.
Who can see my information?
Only members of your community can see your name and the loops you’ve joined. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What does it cost for our organisation?
We’re currently in the pilot phase and aren’t publishing pricing yet. If you’re interested in bringing Zemvia to your organisation, just reach out to hello@zemvia.app and we’ll figure out what makes sense together.
What is the "Founding Community" pilot program?
We offer free, open-ended pilots to a small number of organisations in exchange for feedback. There’s no fixed time limit, no risk, and founding communities keep a discount after the pilot.
How do we invite our residents or members?
Every community gets a unique invite link and QR code — share it on your website, newsletter, or printed posters. You choose whether new members join instantly or need approval first.
How much admin effort does this take?
Very little by design. Members create and run their own loops — coordinators just handle occasional approvals and can step in if something needs moderating.
Does Zemvia replace our existing Vereine/clubs?
No — Zemvia complements what already exists. It gives residents a lightweight way to self-organise between formal club events, not a replacement for them.
